Question

If I contacted the state about my return and they said some numbers are not adding up, what could be wrong? I copied the information from my W-2's and didn't change.

You have to get more specific information than "some numbers are not adding up." It's impossible to say what might be wrong without more details. What exactly does the state think is wrong on your tax return? What specific numbers don't add up? What form and line number is wrong, and what information do they have that indicates that it's wrong. They should send you a letter telling you exactly what they think is wrong on your tax return.

If you need further help, be sure to say what state it is. Every state has different forms and rules.
