Question

If I did not receive the full stimulus amount will this show on my tax paperwork that I requested it?

I received the 2nd stimulus check in January 2021, but I had a baby in December 2020 that was not added into the amount I received. I filed taxes already but I am not seeing any mention of stimulus on the tax paperwork. I want to make sure I get the extra 600 they were giving for each child.

Take a look at your form 1040, line 30 to see the Recovery rebate credit. To print your tax forms, please select one of the links below, depending on how you prepared your taxes:

In the Review section of TurboTax, on the Did you get a stimulus payment? screen, you would have entered the exact dollar amount of the stimulus received. Since your newborn was on your tax return, TurboTax would have calculated the $600 and entered it on Form 1040, line 30.

  • Per IRS, an eligible newborn will receive the stimulus payment when you claim the child as a dependent on your income tax return.
