If I don't know the state tax amount from last year, what do I do?

I'm trying to file my sister's taxes, she passed and I'm the executor. I don't have any previous tax papers. Trying to figure out how much she paid for Indiana state tax last year.

Are you trying to find the AGI to file or get a tax number like for the underpayment of estimated tax process?

If you really need your sister's tax information, get on the horn first thing tomorrow and contact the Taxpayer Advocacy Office of the Indiana Department of Revenue.

Quickly explain your problem (because they will be busy) and ask if you can get transcripts of her 2022 Indiana return.

You may need to file an extension (you can ask about that, too) just to give you time to do this...
