Question

If I filed through TurboTax, but had the fee taken from my refund, will the IRS have my direct deposit info for the COVID-19 stimulus check?

Wondering since our refunds technically go through another bank first to collect their fee and then are sent to ours.  Seems TurboTax has not addressed this directly.

You don't have an answer because we don't have an answer. Something like this is not an automatic process. There has to be negotiations between the bank and the IRS. If an agreement is reached that they will cooperate in having this be an option, it still has to be programmed. It is not the same as getting your refund.

We are still waiting for IRS guidance regarding updating or providing direct deposit information for the stimulus payments and how they will be distributed to these type of accounts. We will have more information once the government finalizes the details.
