If I missed putting a 1098 on my taxes and they have been accepted can I leave it off or do I have to amend them

It depends if the1098 information will make a change in your total refund amount or tax owed. If you have already filed, please wait until your return is either rejected or approved.  

If it's rejected, you can return to your program to add the 1098-T information while fixing the error. 

If your return is approved, you would need to amend only if adding the 1098-T changes your original refund amount or tax due.  Come back later to this link 2019 Amend to amend. ( Follow prompts to see if the new info will create a change) If you need to amend, wait until your return is fully processed and you have received your refund or your payment has cleared.
