If I received a letter from IRS stating my refund is in review, should I wait to amend my taxes if I found an error in inputting the numbers?

Yes, you should wait & follow the instructions in the letter from the IRS.  If the letter did not tell you to amend , you should wait to see what the IRS does.  They may send you a letter asking for more information.

Yes ... you must wait for the IRS to fully process the original return before filing an amended return so you don't "muddy the waters"  and make a bigger mess.  If the IRS doesn't catch the error you need to report but makes other changes your amended return must start with the return as adjusted by the IRS which you will not know until they have completed their review of your RETURN not your refund.

I need help I filed my Federal Taxes and when doing so I left out my W-2's and didn't report any adjusted gross income and on the payments section of my 2024 return I put on the payments section on estimated tax payments I put $474 and I wasn't supposed to do that and now it says I am receiving a refund of $474 and my actual refund is supposed to be $804 when I enter in my W-2's for 2024 on the amend return section, but I don't want to amend because it tells me a 971 Notice is being issued on 3-3-2025 and when I call the IRS the tell me it's a Notice CP25 I just really need to know what is my next step in correcting my mistakes made
