If my Federal 2020 return was accepted need to amend my return, but not able to.

I am trying amend my 2020 return. Received my stimulus check after I added it to our taxes. I tried to amend the return, but it still says the area is not available. What should I do?

You need to wait until your tax return is processed to amend it. It is possible that the IRS will adjust your return by subtracting the stimulus payment information that you entered in error, in which case you will not need to amend it.

The amend routine in TurboTax for the current year is not available yet since the IRS has not yet starting to process returns, so there is no need to amend one at this time.
