IRS.com states refund approved and sent, not in my account yet, why not if it was sent?

Find out the date it should hit your account by using the Where's My Refund tool or use the irs2go app on your smart phone.

Also, did you have any TurboTax fees that you chose to pay out of your Federal refund?   If so, your refund will go first to an intermediary bank where the fees are subtracted.   If you chose that option, we can tell you how to check on the status of your refund at the intermediary company that handles that process.

Sent could mean "I walked outside and put it in the mailbox". That does not mean it's been received by the intended recipient. Same goes for electronic transfer too. Just because it's been "transmitted", does not mean it's been received by the intended recipient.
