Question

IRS DDD 2/24 and I paid for 5 days early. I was informed I would not receive my refund until the date the IRS provided. Why is this?

I filed and was accepted 1/22. I had an Est Date for 2/19 and I haven't received anything from anyone.

You didn't actually pay for 5 days early. You only get charged that amount if your federal return was deposited 5 days early, so in your case, you will not have to pay the fee for 5 days early. They only take it out of your refund IF, you got your return 5 days early and I'm assuming you didn't, so you won't have to pay the cost. Due to President's Day and the weekends, it stops the 5 days early. I hope this helped.

    Honestly, yes and no 😂

I guess what I'm wondering about is why did TT give me an Est Date of 2/19 in the first place? Was it because I ordered the 5 days early option? Technically, it would have been 5 days early had it been deposited on that day. I've seen a lot of people who received their refunds early and a lot who didn't, like myself.

I'm truly just having a pity party at the moment because life is throwing curve balls my way and my tax refund would really be helpful at this time.

Now that I know it will be on Mon (hopefully)....I will stop checking my tax app and bank account 50,000,000 times a day 😂 😂
