Question

Is there a good number or contact to reach someone at IRS? My return was accepted on 2/12, but I have not received my refund yet. Others that submitted after me have!

My return was not that complicated and it has never taken this long before.  I did get my state refund ages ago.  I also do not have my stimulus check yet either. I get that there is a lot going on at the IRS given the changes, but others that filed after me have had their refunds ages ago!  So frustrated that I can't reach IRS to find out why I have such a long hold up.  Their site says to contact them if it has been longer than 21 days, but then their

    The IRS does not process efiling on First In First Out.  It is seriously backlogged due to all the extra stimulus filings, as well as a few million unprocessed 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown.  In addition, the Where's My Refund site has been erratic and unreliable.  But if TT told you the IRS Accepted your filing for processing, then the government has it.  (Approved is a later step, but TT receives no further updates once Accepted.)  Contacting the IRS will not help, and the IRS has implored taxpayers not to call them.  Lots of other folks are still waiting, so please continue to be patient.  Also see:
