You can amend a 2022 tax return on the  Desktop/CD version or Online.

You've stated that you are already using this version.

Sign in to TurboTax on your Desktop /CD software.

1. Open the 2022 TurboTax Desktop
2. Select 2022
3. Under Need to Amend a Filed Return?
4. Select Amend a Filed Return.
5. Select Amend 2022.
   • If the return you need to amend doesn’t appear as an option, select Find a Tax File to find and load the return.
6. The screen will show We’ll help you change (amend) your return screen - Continue.
7. I’ve already filed my return. - Yes
8. Tell us a little more about your amend situation ( select option and Continue.
9. On the next screen, select Update next to the info you need to change.
10. Continue through the interview,
11. Make the changes you need to make.
12. Don’t forget to select Save As (or Duplicate on Mac) from the File menu.
13. "Amended 2022 - (Your name)" is an alternative
14. This will preserve the tax return you originally filed.

If you want to make changes, or add a document to a tax return that has already been submitted you should follow these guidelines.

• You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.
• Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.
  • The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due
  • Only make changes to the areas of your return that need amending.
• You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment
