First we need to know if we're talking about the same thing.   Do you mean you are wanting to know if your efiled return (not a refund) has been accepted for IRS processing?   A refund (if applicable) is only approved at the end of IRS processing.    Are you saying the efile status is still showing as "pending?"

I'll assume you efiled.   When you log into TurboTax, what is showing for the status of your efile?    Does it say pending, accepted, or rejected?

Where can i find the status ?

because once i log in to my account i see the amount and under it i see “Federal Ready to mail” and “State Ready to mail”.

Were you planning to efile those 2 returns?   If so, it sounds likes you didn't go all the way to the final screen and click a big orange button to transmit the returns.

"Ready to mail" means TurboTax thinks you are planning to print those returns and mail them in postal mail.   So if you didn't use that method, then the returns have not been filed, but, if you wish, you can change back to efile.

As long as you haven't already printed and mailed the returns, you can change that filing method to efile the 2 returns.   Here's how:

  • Log into your account, and open your return interview back up.
  • If you don't see the return interview, then look for a link "Add a State."  Click on "Add a State."  (That doesn't really add one; that's just to open the return.)
  • Once the return is open, if needed you can make any changes in your return as long as you didn't already print and mail it.
  • Then go through the REVIEW section to be sure everything is still in order.
  • Then go to the FILE section, go through the screens there, and change the filing method to efile.
  • Then continue on answering all the remaining screens and at the final step click a big orange button "Transmit My Returns Now."
