Question

It said on my return that my employer paid too much on my social security and that I'm entitled for a refund from them how do I go about doing that?

Edit your W-2 first....check the $$ amounts in box 3 & 4 that is entered on the "software" W-2 forms. A mis-entry in either of those boxes could be the reason for the problem...especially if different from what's on your paper W-2.

OR did you enter two W-2 forms for two different employers, but the EIN for each employer is the same???

OR are you filing MFJ...and your spouse works in the same place???? Then you likely entered both W-2 forms as if they were both for the same person, and not one each
