Question

Its states that my federal and state return were transmitted and is pending how do you know if it was done correctly

Print out your returns and check them.  Turbo Tax is a self prepared return.  It won't know if you left something out or entered something in the wrong place.

 

 When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile. 

 

Even if the IRS accepts it that doesn't mean it is right.  Accepted just means they verified your identity and will process it.  They can still find something wrong with it.
