Have you checked Where's My Amended Refund?

The IRS says do not file a second amended return or call. IRS telephone assistors don’t have any additional information about your amended return while it is processing.

That said, if you mailed in an amended return and the IRS has no record of it – and you did not use any type of tracking to show the IRS actually got your return – it's possible your return got lost somewhere.

In that case you may want to file a copy of your amended return by certified mail with proof of delivery.
