Contact your employer. They may be able to give you a copy or tell you the numbers you need over the telephone.

Get a Wage and Income Transcript from the IRS. This will show you the numbers on your W-2. It may not be in the IRS system yet.

You can obtain an IRS transcript at Welcome to Get Transcript

If that doesn't work:

  1. Grab your last 2020 pay stub and call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040.
  2. The IRS will ask you for some info before following up with your employer.
  3. After notifying the IRS, you can either continue waiting for your W-2 or paper-file your return using Form 4852 and your last pay stub.
