missing half of my refund

I filed electronically and split my refund half in to two accounts saving and checking. I received the one half to checking's but did not receive the other half. Where's my other half?

Verify with your bank that your savings account is set-up to receive ACH deposits, not all accounts are. If the accounts are at the same bank, it is possible that the bank has not finished dispersing money received from the IRS. The IRS doesn't deposit money to your bank account directly; they send it to the bank and your bank moves the money from the clearing account to each individual's account.

You can use Where's My Refund to verify the amount or you can start with contacting the bank and inquiring where the remaining portion of your refund is. Depending on when it was deposited to the bank, it may take a day or two more to reach your account or if for some reason there was a problem with your account, and your bank returned the money, the IRS will issue the remainder by check to the address on your tax return.
