Solved

My employer made an error on my W-2 box 12 code W and sent a corrected W-2. The difference is $136.92. How will this affect my return.

I know I will need to file an amended return. How do I know if I am going to lose or owe money?

Box 12 Code W reports contributions to your Health Savings Account (HSA).

Unless you had a penalty for over-contributing to the HSA for the year, the change shown on your W-2 probably will not affect your refund or balance due.

To be sure that there is not a change in your refund/balance due, you should create an amended return.  If there is not a change in the return, just don't submit (mail) the amended return.
