Question

My federal return was set to be $594. In looking at my bank account, I only received $239.20. My TurboTax fees were $173. Where is the rest of the money?

    If you chose to pay your TurboTax fees from your federal refund, remember that you also agreed to pay an extra $40 ($45 in CA) refund processing fee to the third party bank that handles refund processing.   Federal and state refunds do not arrive at the same time-----was that whole amount the federal amount or was it a combination of federal and state?   Your state refund may arrive at a later time.

     

    Check the IRS refund site to see how much the IRS says they refunded to you.   Did the IRS change anything?   Or does the IRS refund match the amount that was on line 35a of your Form 1040?

     

     

    You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
