My parents claimed me as a dependent in 2019 taxes but will no longer claim me as of 2020 since I'm on my own now. How do I update my profile in TurboTax to independent?

I have not filed my tax return as of yet for 2020. I selected 'Single'. Do I need to do anything more?

Yes. If you are no longer a dependent, you must also complete the steps below:

Open your return.
Click on My Info.
Click Edit next to your name.
Scroll down to Section #3.
Click No for the statement, "Someone else can claim me as a dependent on their tax return."
Click continue.
