My parents put me as dependent but amended it bc I don't qualify anymore. Should I wait until it's processed (after deadline) or file now as dependent and amend later?

Since I don't owe anything (I'm getting money back), should I wait until they process the amendment even though it would be past the deadline? Or should I file as dependent and then amend my own to get the rest of my returns?

You should just file your return by mail.  Right now, its the e-file system that has your SSN locked up.  If you file by mail, you will be able to bypass that system and the IRS will process your return and pay your refund.  It takes a little longer to process your return when you file by mail, but it can take 16-20 weeks for the IRS to process amended returns and even after it is processed there is no guarantee that the e-file system will be updated at all this year.  So, its best to just go ahead and file your return by mail now.
