Question

My previous address that I put on my local Tax return was one digit off. It's supposed to be 31 Street Name, I put 30 Street Name. Do I need to amend the return?

Hopefully you selected direct deposit for the refund or else it may be sent across the street if you are looking for a check. To change your address with the IRS, you will need to submit form 8822.  Select this IRS link  to download and print the 8822 complete with the instructions. Mail this out to the IRS.  The address to mail it to is in the instructions.

Sorry, just wanted to be clear this doesn’t pertain to where my refund is sent.

This was my previous NY address before I moved to NJ. On my tax form, I accidentally listed the address as 31 ____ St. as my previous address in NY rather than 30 _____ St. Do I need to amend the return?
