Question

My refund has been adjusted by almost $1400. I do not owe back taxes or anyone or any business money. What has happened?

The IRS will send you a letter if your refund amount has been adjusted. It's possible the stimulus payment information you entered was not correct.

Watch for a CP10, CP11, CP12, CP13, CP16, CP23, CP24 or CP25 notice from the IRS. Those are the stimulus correction notices.

It is a CP 24. Does that mean that I entered too much for stimulus? I entered the two payments we received last year for my husband and myself. I so appreciate your help!

Do you have an amount on 1040 line 30?  If you already got the Stimulus payments line 30 should be 0.
