Question

My return was submitted digitally and accepted by the IRS on March 21st... and, obviously, it's been more than the 21 days. Should I be worried?

The status just shows as "processing". Will they ever let me know if they need more information to complete "processing"?

Yes, the IRS will let you know if they need more information by sending you a letter.

 

Please be aware, the IRS is currently taking longer to process returns because they are backlogged. Please keep checking the IRS Where's My Refund? site for updates.
