My tax return is still saying pending. does that mean they aren't accepted since they began accepting them on the 12th. does that mean something is wrong?

No, that does not indicate something is wrong. The IRS just has not pulled your tax return yet. The IRS has millions and millions of tax returns that they have to pull from servers throughout the country. It will take several days for the IRS to pull all these tax returns.
