Question

My w-2 is not much at all because I haven’t worked on over a year, do I still have to file that little amount?

It depends.  If you ONLY have W-2 income of less than $14,600, then you would not need to file a tax return.

Check if you need to file a tax return

If your total income from the wages on the W-2 is your only income for the year and the amount in box 1 of the W-2, and you are filing Single, is less than $14,600, you do not have to file a 2024 tax return.

Unless you have taxes withheld in box 2 of the W-2 and would like a refund of all the taxes withheld then you should file a 2024 tax return.
