You do not AMEND a return that you haven't yet submitted. Rather, you simply go into the file and make edits.

If however, if you mean you did efile it, but TT has not yet "submitted" it, please post back.

Incidentally, TT does not actually submit tax returns. Rather, the filings sit on the company's servers until the IRS comes and pulls them for processing. Think of it like dropping a letter in one of those big USPS blue mailboxes, where it waits for the postman to come and collect it. Except for a very few test cases, the IRS will start doing that on Feb 12.
