NEED TO AMEND MY RETURNS - FORGOT SSA 1099 IN MY RETURNS

Since the IRS isn't opening tax season until February 12, you'll first need to wait to see if the IRS accepts or rejects your return.  IF, by chance, your return is rejected, you can add your SSA-1099 before re-submitting your return.  If your return is accepted as filed, you will indeed need to amend your return in order to correct it.

You won't be able to amend your return in TurboTax until likely much later in February.  I'll go ahead and share the TurboTax FAQ that instructs you on how to amend your return.  Be sure and follow the instructions carefully, as they are quite specific.  Additionally, you won't be able to e-file your amended return.  They must be filed by mail.
