Needed help last yr (surgery). Used Turbotax 15 yrs previously. I don't appreciate you wouldn't carry over data (ie bday & SSN) from past yrs. Time waste! Punishment?

Turbotax obviously had all my info, so I don't understand why my info wasn't auto filled just because I missed a year. Is it to discourage folks from going anywhere else? It took a lot of time to refill things that Turbotax managed to carry over all other years, esp things that never change. Why not offer that capability as an incentive for those who leave & return (as a reminder of how convenient TT is)? Rather, it felt like punishment. I would've used TT last year if I was capable of doing my own taxes, like I have every year other year since age 19! (I'm 36 now and only missed using TT last year).
