Question

New Mexico passed a 600$ tax rebate, I made less than 31,000 in 2020 but I haven’t received it. So do I need to file a amended return?

Do not amend unless you did not claim the Working Families Tax Credit on your original New Mexico income tax return, but believe you qualify.

New Mexico says: "Taxpayers who have already filed their 2020 New Mexico Personal Income Tax returns and are eligible for the $600 rebate do not need to take further action. The $600 rebate will be mailed to them or delivered by direct deposit if they selected that option when they filed.

Taxpayers who have already filed their 2020 Personal Income Tax returns and didn’t claim the Working Families Tax Credit but who believe they may qualify will need to file an amended return."

Check your state tax return, The Working Families Tax Credit appears appears on Lines 25 and 25a of Form PIT-1.
