I filed my 2017 return late using the address TurboTax stated (Ogden, UT), but then shortly later from the IRS ACS Support department telling me to send my return to them. What should I do?

Respond with the information on when and where the return was filed ... if it was in the last month it is not in the system yet.  As to sending them a copy ... you could but do not sign it and write COPY on the 1040 in large letters like a watermark.

I would call the phone number on the letter and tell them you have already filed your 2017 taxes by mailing it to the Ogden UT address.

Generally speaking, the IRS takes 6 weeks to process a paper filed return.

Thanks for the information, my thoughts are to send a letter to the address indicated in the notice telling them that I filed a paper return already.  I'm debating if I should send a copy of the return to the new address, but I'm worried that it will create confusion.  Any thoughts?
