The IRS deals with federal tax returns.   Your state deals with your state tax return.  So----who wants a copy of your 2018 state return?   Did you get a letter from your state?   And do they say you did not file the return, or do they say you did not pay the tax due for that year?

Your only proof that you paid your state tax due will be your own bank or credit card records.   State tax due must be paid to the state by the state's preferred method, which is usually by check, money order, or by a credit card payment directly on the state's tax website.  You cannot pay the state from a federal refund.

If you prepared a state return using online TurboTax, the return is in your account, and will include all of the pages that you prepared.  Does your account say that you filed a 2018 state return and that it was accepted?

If you look at/print the page  that shows the electronic filing postmark, does it show that you filed your state return?   What does it say about how you paid the state?

You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Start a 2022 return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

    SAVE YOUR TAX RETURN !

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records.  That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.
