On Mass.gov it states you may write of E-ZPass toll payments each year. Where can you find this under state returns?

Yes. Massachusetts allows a deduction of up to $750 per person for certain commuting costs for:

  • Tolls paid through an E-ZPass MA account
  • The cost of weekly or monthly passes for
  • MBTA transit
  • Bus
  • Commuter rail
  • Commuter boat

The deduction applies only to the portion of costs that exceeds $150.

  • In the Massachusetts section of TurboTax, continue until you reach the screen Additional Massachusetts Deductions.
  • Check Paid commuter expenses that were not reimbursed. Continue
  • Enter your E-Z pass payments (not including any amounts reimbursed or otherwise deductible, for example, if you have a pre-tax commuter flexible spending account)
