Owing a crazy amount after amendment

My employer failed to provide me with a complete W2 when I filed my taxes. They finally sent me another W2 which I entered in to amend, but now TurboTax thinks I owe $3k. I only got $1900 back total from state and federal. Some information:

- I live in CA but WFH and my job is located in CT

- I have 4 W2s total - 3 from CA (same company, 2 because they screwed up and 1 because I worked a shift a different location of one of their stores) and 1 from CT

- I changed jobs in November 2024 and the CT job is the new one

- Total income over ALL 2024 between all W2s was ~$35k

I have my health information for CA which I entered, I rent, no kids/dependents, not in school, do not own property, no investments, no charities. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to why this would happen? How could I possible owe this much?

The amount you owe is based on your income.  If your first tax return had a refund, the new amount due would include any amounts you had to pay back- so depending on what income you added to the amended return, you may have been put into a new tax bracket or perhaps lost earned income and other tax credits.
