How long does it take to get accepted after filing?

Your e-filed return is still in pending on the server because the IRS began to accept/reject/process returns today, January 27th. Only a few returns were accepted early in a test batch. Everyone else has been waiting. Please see the TurboTax FAQ below for more information on pending returns:

Accepted means your return was received by the government and the basics like your social security number seem to be in order.

After acceptance, the next step is for the government to approve your refund.
