Pending status in perpetuity

Hi, I filed and the taxes were received by the IRS on February 14,2021. It is well over three weeks and when I use any links to the IRS or the IRS2Go app it just repeats that it's in pending status. You all sent me an email today that you would charge me the fees for Turbotax instead of deducting them from my return since, in your words, my refund is delayed or reduced. How can I find out what the status is exactly of my refund? Thanks

The IRS is seriously backlogged due to all the new tax laws and extra stimulus filings, as well as unprocessed 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown.  In addition, the Where's My Refund site has been erratic and unreliable.  But if TT told you that the IRS Accepted your efiling for processing, then the government has it.  (Approved is a later step, but TT receives no further updates once a return is Accepted.)  Unfortunately, contacting the IRS will not speed things up.  Lots of other folks are still waiting, so please continue to be patient.  Also see:
