What happens if, after I have submitted my tax return, there is a software update that changes the outcome of my tax filing? How am I to know ?

That is unlikely. Most updates are to add forms that were late, but it would not be possible to have file without the form. In the rare case where prior filed returns can be affected, then TurboTax e-mail notifies those taxpayers.
