Can I claim my dependents in my 2019 tax return even if they had a tax credit through the marketplace

    Yes, you can claim your dependents even if they had a tax credit through the marketplace.  You enter the information from their Form 1095-A into TurboTax, and TurboTax will complete the required Form 8962.

     

    This IRS website has an overview of claiming and reconciling the advance premium tax credit.

     

    The IRS Instructions for Form 8962 at this link has information that may be helpful.

     

    IRS Publication 974 Premium Tax Credit as all the rules, including instructions for taxpayers in special situations.
