Problem with e-filing amended TY2019 return with TT Premier 2019 desktop version

I'm trying to use TT Premier 2019 windows desktop version to e-file an amended TY2019 return.

It's not clear to me whether this is supposedly supported by the program or not. When I first go to File the amended return, I get to a screen saying that TT e-filing is "closed for the tax season" on October 15, 2020. However if I press the Continue button from there, the program seems to go forward to attempt the e-filing.

On the Signature page you are asked to provide e-filing PINs and today's date, as usual for e-filing. Then you ultimately get to Transmit Returns Now. After selecting that, but before actually transmitting the return, the program throws up an objection to the Signature Date (today's date, 2/23/2021), saying that it must be between 1/1/2020 and 12/31/2020. It doesn't make sense to limit the signature date of an amended return filing for TY2019 to this date range.

Anyone know if there is a way to accomplish what I'm attempting to do here with TT, or must I resort to (ugh) mailing in the amended return to the IRS?

I spoke with TT support about this issue just now. After demonstrating the problem to them, and some discussion on their end, I was ultimately advised to mail the amended return to the IRS, no further information.
