Random income added after I filed

I finished my taxes with a bill of 4300. I entered my bank info and scheduled a payment date. I closed the webpage, but wanted to make sure everything was good. When I logged back in my payment was now 6500. When I downloaded my tax documents and reviewed them somehow 8600 in income was added to line 1h. This change in income directly correlates to the increase in the tax bill. How do I fix this? I feel no need to donate an extra 1200 dollars to the government.

If you did not file your taxes yet and the return was not accepted, you can simply make the changes in the interview section of the program.

However, if your tax return was filed and accepted, you will need to wait until your return is processed and then can file an amended return when it's available at the end of February to report the correction. Please see this link for guidance on filing an amended return.
