Refund delayed

I filed my return on February 12th. It is now April 4th. When I check the IRS2go site daily I always get the reply that it is still being processed & a refund date will be provided. This has never happened before. I used Turbotax to file. I don't think there were any errors. I did not have the child credit or alternative minimum tax. Can't understand the delay. Tried calling the IRS & told due to high call volume, call next business day. What if I never get it?

This year is different from previous ones. The IRS is seriously backlogged due to all the new tax laws and extra stimulus filings, as well as unprocessed 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown. Contacting the IRS will not speed things up, and they have actually told taxpayers not to call. Lots of other folks are still waiting, so please continue to be patient. Also see:
