Question

Should I contact Turbo tax if I didn’t receive my Recovery rebate credit of $1,400 in 2021? It states on line 30 that I should receive that money.

Line 30 states 1400, but the line of amount refunded to you is empty.

No, you do not contact TurboTax.   TurboTax gets no information after you file your tax return.   The IRS is issuing checks to some people who the IRS has identified as being still eligible for the recovery rebate credit.  TurboTax does not know who those people are and is not involved.

If you are not sure if you received the 3rd EIP payment of $1400 look at your online IRS account.

Try checking your online account with the IRS (and if you filed a joint return—check for BOTH of you)

And.....if you had an amount on line 30, but the "refund" on line 35a was blank, that means your line 30 credit was applied toward tax you owed.

Maybe the 1400 reduced a tax due.  Do you have a refund amount on line 35a or a tax due on line 37?  Or did the IRS adjust your return and take off the 1400 from your refund or sent you a bill for it?

Line 35a says 1,664. Line 37 says zero. I went though my bank statements of that year and never received that, only received my State Return.

Then you need to see what happened to the federal refund that is on line 35a.   That line includes the $1400 that you say was on line 30.  When you go to the IRS refund site what does it say when you put in your information for that 2023 refund?

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Did you choose to pay your TurboTax fees from your federal refund?   There might be a problem with the 3rd party bank that handles refund processing and you can check with that bank too.

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com
