It depends. If you are expecting a refund, you can wait until you receive it to prevent its delay. Not knowing what has changed on your SSA-1099, it is difficult to say for any certainty is you should file an amendment or not. Please see a section of the IRS Tax Topic 308 - Amended Return attached on reasons to file an amendment. You can read the entire article here.
