Should I switch my 2019 return to a 1040 SR from my previous turbo tax 8 yr returns?

Not sure what you are trying to do.  If you were 65 or older at the end of 2019, when you prepare your 2019 return it will go on a Form 1040SR.  That form is the same as the "regular" Form 1040 except it has bigger print.  All the lines are the same, and the calculations are done the same way.  Your tax due or refund are not affected in any way by whether you use Form 1040 or 1040SR.
