Should I trust that the $56 amount filled in by Turbotax as our 2018 state/local tax refund is correct? On our 2018 Turbotax return we paid $39. Are there other factors?

In other words, there seems to be a discrepancy -- Turbotax's "default" is showing this refund, but we actually paid additional state taxes on our 2018 return. Just wondering if it could be adding other amounts in to get this $56 figure or if I should change it. Thanks!

When considering your state and local taxes, make sure that you are looking for your total tax paid on your 2018 State/Local Tax Return(s). It is not what you paid in an addition, rather your Total Tax Liability for your State.
