I  sent my 2019 return by mail meaning the IRS will not have it on file yet. Would that be a reason my 2020 return is being rejected? should I wait to efile my 2020 return with a AGI of  0?

Yes, put your AGI as 0 for your 2020 tax return since your 2019 return is not yet on file with the IRS.

If you received an ACTION NEEDED! email from turbotax@intuit.com, it'll give you a brief explanation of your reject and how to update it. You can also sign in to your TurboTax account and select Fix my return to see your reject code and explanation.

Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection, and continue through to refile your return (either e-file or file by mail).
