Question

Since I failed to report my $600 stimulus payment that I got on January 4, 2021 on my 2020 return, do I have to amend my return?

I should not have been eligible for the Recovery Rebate credit, so how do change my return that has already been accepted by the IRS?

You need to wait until your return is processed and then amend it if the IRS does not change it. They may change the return to reflect the payment that you didn't list on the tax return, as they know they sent it to you.
