Social Security Number wrong on tax return

Just discovered my Social Security Number is wrong on my tax return.  First time filing a tax return.

Got married in 2019 and filed with my wife.  She has been filing a return each year. I mailed in our

return and have not heard anything from IRS. My wife got her refund from Mississippi & Alabama.

Is it any way I can amend my return changing the SS#?

You should file an amended return with the correct SSN.

In your case, no numbers will be changed. In the reason you file an amended return, explain that you mistakenly file with a wrong SSN (give it out so the IRS can cross reference to your original return) and that you amend to correct the SSN.

To amend your return, please follow the instructions in this TurboTax Help topic.
