Still waiting on an amended tax return an the other half of my original refund. IRS says its been completed but still waiting. ???

Did you ever get the original refund yet ?

And did you file before the unemployment change ?

Once the IRS processes the original return (and sends the refund)  it then  goes to a special processing department for the unemployment correction and the extra refund is sent.  Processing times for these 2 steps is taking 6 months or more to complete this year due to staffing shortages and the volume of returns in the hopper. 

Only then will the amended return even be addressed ... the 6 months or more of processing time for amended returns starts when the original and corrected returns have been fully processed.
