A client came to me after a friend helped him file his taxes, but the return was rejected. He then asked me to file on his behalf, which I did. However, his friend also resubmitted the return, and that one was accepted.
How should I handle this situation with the IRS? Should I call to clarify what happened? Could this cause any issues for me?
